A buy button looks harmless. What happens when its request reaches the server with a different price, the wrong item, or far too many calls?
Join me, Yee Sen, for a 30-minute Roblox security workshop built around a fictional bakery shop. We will inspect an unsafe RemoteEvent handler, make the server check the request, and test the result together. Expect short code puzzles, chat votes, and explanations you can use in your own experiences.
What we will practise:
• Choosing which decisions belong on the server.
• Validating remote inputs and checking whether a player can perform an action.
• Using server-owned prices and balances, and limiting request frequency.
• Reasoning about unusual numbers and changes to state while code waits.
Who it is for: beginner and intermediate Roblox developers who can read basic Luau. Experienced developers are welcome to tackle the reasoning questions. You can join without writing code live or opening Studio.
Format: a solo, voice-led webinar with visual slides, audience challenges, and a short Q&A. We will record my presentation and voice for a replay.
Time: Monday, 19 October 2026, 00:00–00:30 SGT (UTC+8). Registration is free. No prizes or giveaways.
Please follow the Roblox Community Standards. Keep questions about protecting your own code, and leave private code, credentials, and exploit instructions out of chat. Creator Events participants must be at least 13.
