Why do well made games fail? Why do poorly made games succeed? That's because fun isn't good game art, polished mechanics, or a nice cover. Fun is about player motivation. Join me as I present an overview of all I've learned about player motivation in my 12 years as a developer, breaking down the core of player motivation and how you can use it to improve your games. 

In this talk we'll discuss:

- Understanding Player Emotion and Cognition

- Creating a Core Loop with Player Psychology in Mind

- Tracking Player Motivation through Analytics
